5 killed, 35 injured in bomb blast in Assam's Baksa district

Nalbari, Jun 29 At least five persons, including
three women, were killed and 35 others injured in a powerful
bomb blast at a weekly market in lower Assam's Baksa district
today.
Another bomb was also recovered from the market place,
official sources said.
The bomb went off around 1.10 pm in busy Kumarikata
weekly market in Tamulpur, killing five persons on the spot.
The injured were admitted to local hospitals while five
critically injured were referred to the Gauhati Medical
College Hospital.
The explosion took place in the area where pigs were
being sold and the market was crowded with buyers, the sources
said.
Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area as
tension prevailed.
